Wow it's been a long time since I have posted anything up here. So much as been going on with school and my personal life. I have finally completed almost three quarters of my first semester here at Boyce College. I have grown in knowledge and finally can comprehend a majority of the lectures. I also have a new found taste for classical piano and jazz. A lot of my life has changed over the course of 9 weeks. My eyes are open to a more in-depth look of the bible. I finally understand how to fully exegete biblical passages and it will help me advance my biblical knowledge so I can follow Him. Life has also hit me and the secular life I once lived has found me once again. My quite time has hit a wall. Luckily a girl I trust with my life has been talking to me almost everyday, and without her I do not know what I would do. We are starting a joint quite time together. That way we can hold each other accountable and grow further in His word. I am excited to see where the Lord is going to take me with this and I pray that he keeps guiding my heart. I have also been struggling with admiring the girl that helps me all the time. I know it will not interfere with our friendship. That is a completely different story at this time. Now I must leave and finish some of my work. Look forward to me consistently posted my thoughts on my wall.

So much has happened since I last posted, so I lost my phone when I went home this weekend. I had a good time seeing my parents and visiting my home church, but after going to my home church I feel a stronger call to help there and work there. You know, so much can happen in so little time, about six months ago I was planning on being a youth pastor, and now i'm in school to become a pastor, and I plan on planting a church somewhere in the US. Well this weekend was good and bad but its okay. Well I just finished my last class of the week and I am probably gonna have a full plate this weekend. I am going to put together a quick rough draft of my book review for Comp 2 and maybe get my Theology 1 one out of the way. College life is definitely different and it is hard to get accustomed to. You go through high school waiting on getting to college and yeah don't get me wrong, college is amazing, its just the late nights and all the reading and writing that gets to you. I am sitting in the patio room right now waiting until 3:00 so i can watch USA beat Finland in hockey, it is gonna be epic. I don't even know why I like hockey, I think it is the fact that you can beat each others brains out and get away with it haha. Well life is going really good right now and I feel like I am getting closer in my relationship with God everyday. I can see him working through my day almost always now, whereas I would never see him, and I would turn from him all the time. I am so glad that I choose to follow his guidance for my life. I am learning so much about stuff I would never even have thought would be in the bible. I am holding true to my beliefs and finally understand why I believe them. Early this semester I had a major problem with the whole Calvinist/Armenian and now it is finally clearing up. I am so sorry if my thoughts seemed so jumbled but right now my mind is going crazy and I can't seem to figure out why. I think it is all the stuff that I am learning and it is impeding on my every thought. I will post more as more comes to mind :) HAVE A BLESSED DAY!

Shocked my parents today as I pulled up in the driveway. It was a long drive but it was well worth it. Apparently I made a few people upset by leaving campus and I'm truly sorry Michael J. Dixon II haha. Well after I got to Lexington I decided to grab a haircut which was probably the worst idea on earth considering that no one knows how to do my hair! Well go figure, they messed it up and my mom had to fix it. Now I look like I did when I was in ROTC o_O. Now I am over at my parents friend's house about to watch Kentucky beat Vandy while eating HUGE hamburgers! Its gonna be a good night and I'll keep you posted on nice and cool things!

So today I woke up around 11:00 am and I think I might go visit my family in Lexington. After all that happened last night I think I deserve to go see them :). Hopefully it will be a big surprise and they will be happy to see me!

So today was probably one of the best days of my time here at Boyce. I started my day off with an amazing lunch with my good friend Elijah Smith. After which we we joined Katie and Joshua we decided to go to Borders which was probably the coolest place on earth! I bought a notebook to write my life in and another really cheap moleskin. After we got back from there I went to check out my buddys car and made sure everything was working out with it. Turns out that he has a bad O2 sensor and hopefully he gets it fixed for cheap. Then I came back just in time for my interview for Centrifuge. I think it went really well and I am praying that I will be able to get in and start serving. He was a really nice person and I believe he actually had my interest at heart. So we talked for about an hour about my testimony and where my life is right now. I am hoping that God will guide me where he needs me. After the interview we went out to dinner in the cafe and we just sat and talked about the day. Matt and Mark finally convinced me to go to the Red concert. We went and it was probably the best concert I have gone to in a while. We just did what all people do at concerts and chilled. After the concert we went back to the dorms and got settled back in then went to the gas station to grab some food. Now I am watching a movie with Mike and probably gonna go to bed a little late tonight haha. I'll post more as it happens!

So it has been a pretty laid back day so far. Woke up around 11:00am and then went to lunch with my good buddy James Losey. After lunch I ran by student life office to pick up a student leadership application. So im really hoping I can get on with Boyce's Student Leadership team. It is pretty early in the day for a bunch of stuff to be going on but hopefully when everyone gets out of class things will liven up a bit. Matt Hail's big brother is in town for the weekend and he is pretty cool, but I guess if he is related to Matt then that is a no brainer. After my huge dry spell with my walk things are starting to come back together. At the same time things are coming apart in my family. God is and will provide for my family as we go through different trials each day. I thank him for all he has done and soon will do. I just wish my parents life doesn't have to be this rough right now just considering the big move over here and all this stuff has to go and happen. Thanks are going to work out for the best anyway so there is no need for me to worry. I am hoping for the best for my friends and I am praying for you if you are reading this. I am planning on starting a Skype devotional with another good friend Bekah. I am hoping things are working out for you as well.

So today was really pretty haha, and I got productive about half way through. I got my room really clean and then got a lofting kit. All that after sitting through Payne and Omanson's class. Now I am waiting until 10 so i can get a couch in my room. Today was actually pretty boring, Mike and I are chillin in my room listenin to I Love College. haha. More is to come tonight, usually that night time is when we have our parties. :)

Another super long day with the guys. Stayed up all night talking about stupid things and messing around with the computer. We called John Michaels room like four times at 3.00 in the morning. After we finally settled down we watched a movie and kept our eye out for awesome school cancelations. Now I am sitting at my computer desk trying to think of something I need to do. I finished some of my reading today but I just keep missing something. There is a bunch of stuff i wanna look up and do but then again I am running off two hours of sleep. There is already talk of school being cancelled tomorrow. If it is I am gonna go home and spend time with my church and friends. College life is grand when you have people to spend time with, people to hold you accountable for your actions. God has blessed me with a group of guys they only want the best for me and that is awesome. There is still more day to come but as of right now I am just gonna sit back and kick it with my friends. Maybe talk to my parents and then get a bit to eat at the cafe. We concern ourself with too much bad stuff and we don't surround ourself with enough good. I had a really good Theological talk with one of my friends today and I am praying for knowledge to battle the unknown. I want to just jump right into the ministry and take it all head on. Please pray for me, I am having a hard time trying to seek the Lord's will for my life. I don't know where he wants me or what direction I should take. It was so clear before I got to Boyce and now that I am learning more I have separated myself from him somehow. People say all the time that you can't do anything bad at Bible college, and it is hard to get in trouble there. There are bunches of ways to get in trouble and I have only been here for a month and I have seen so much. People living in the flesh, taking part in pranks and gossip. Talking with foul language and treat others different. I am not going to lie, I have taken part in it since I have been here and I feel horrible for it. Just please pray for me, pray for guidance as I seek out his will for my life. Pray that I will gain Knowledge and Insight to battle all temptations!

So today was valentines day, it wasn't as bad as last years but it still wasn't amazing. Watching the race with Dixon and then probably gonna go grab something to eat after the guys get outta church. Today was the first day I have ever miss church before. o_0 it was intense and then tonight when we went they had cancelled church. It was stupid :(. We didn't really have much going on all day and that makes today stupid. I might have more to say tonight but not right now...

Another wonderful day, we just started filming our Boyce College Movie for Big Show, we are in the library right now working on putting it together. It will be amazing even though we had a rough first day, but now everything is working out for the good. I had a great talk with my buddy Nick tonight about atheist and how the only contradictions in the bible that they see are the numbers. Numbers in Greek and Hebrew are really rough to translate if you don't have an amazing eye for them. Some of the number errors in translations are caused by people not looking close enough. So my friend brought to my attention this website http://www.carm.org/bible-difficulties/. It will help with some of the questions that Atheist might throw out at ya. So other than all the drama with the film things went well today. Spent the day with some good friends learning more about God and His word. Church tomorrow at First Baptist Church of Fisherville, I am hoping that the church tomorrow will help me become better in what I do and will be the church God wants me in.

So I decided to change things up a bit and post my Journal on the Blog so you all can see the many changes that happen all week long. I wanted to start off by saying that it is a rough vision of my day and can throw you off if you start it at the wrong time. I will try to be as clear as possible.

So it begins.

Sitting at Java with James Losey after a long morning of sleeping. I woke up at 1230 today. Lately I just haven't been able to sleep and it is slowly killing me. I keep worrying about how well I'm going to do in school and if I am going to make anyone proud. I worry that I won't be able to find a job, or be able to help change the lives of kids. So many people at Southern are confusing on their beliefs, and they put off this vibe that you are either Calvinist or you are an Armenian which really bugs me because I never even heard them before until I came to Southern. After looking into the beliefs and understanding where they are biblically I have become a Calvinist. Now what scares me the most is what people are going to say to me if they ever ask that question? One thing that i believe is touchy is the unconditional election, and limited atonement. Jesus did die on the cross for the elect, but his blood is sufficient for all because we don't know who the elect are. Therefore, since we have no understanding of whom God elected then we must go and teach the Word of God to all, remember we don't save, God does. So yes I am a Calvinist, I said it. I am happy for the friends God have blessed me with here in Louisville, KY. I have spent a lot of time getting to know them and I can see God working through their lives. I am blessed to have such a great set of friends I can find truth in. Leaving New Mexico has probably been the greatest decision I have made. So the day is still half way done.

New Start

"So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do all in the glory of God." 1 Corinthians 10:31. One of my life verses, God really is working up at this college and I have only been here for one day! I woke up multiple times today and I don't know if its the bed or what. But I knew God wanted me to get back into his word. Lately I have felt so distant from God, My quite time has vanished, no one on one with God, it has been so horrible. God is so good though, he put it on my heart this morning to stick with my resoultion and to stick with him. It was around 4:40am when i finally said "ya know what God, what am I doing?" I opened my bible and had a really hard time trying to think of a place to start, so I just let my bible do the talking and it opened to Galatians 5-6. Now I can't exactly tell you why it happened but the first thing I saw was a note in the bottom that said "trying to save ourselves by keeping all God's laws only separates us from God." I have let myself get so caught up in trying to do good works at the church instead of trying to grow into a better relationship with christ. My prayer this morning is that we don't just merely say we are going to do it, we DO IT. Keep God's commandments but also remember that he is the one we should wake up and thank every morning, he gives us everything and sometimes we think that is how it should be.

When you try to work on the car, never do it while it is raining haha.

Why do people have to follow so close after it has rained?

Why do people have to act stupid if you are going slow during rain?

Do we lack patience now? Is the world seriously going to leave moral behind and do what they want? We need to get back to God because when we are out of His Will it is like running on Interstate 75, half naked towards traffic. We are seriously going out living our life without thinking about our actions. Yes, I do struggle with this, I'm horrible when it comes to communication and I'm still working on respecting my parents but I'm not the only one with the problem. Come on American we are losing our luster, what happened to the good old days when you could sit and talk about things that bothered you, when God was needed to run a country and when God guided us Americans.

WE have lost the war my friends it's time to come back to God and let him do His Will.

He Spoke to ME!

In our life we look for God to guide us in the direction we need to go. If we listen to him we will always know where to follow His guidance. This morning he spoke to me through Proverbs 6:6-11 and he spoke perfectly clear. I woke up with the thought that we all have when we wake up, "I don't need to be awake." Proverbs says "Go to the ant, you sluggard; consider its ways and be wise! It has no commander, no overseer or ruler, yet it stores its provisions in summer and gathers its food at harvest. How long will you lie there, you sluggard? When will you get up from your sleep? A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest--and poverty will come on you like a bandit and scarcity like an armed man." This woke me up and pretty much hit me, how can Gods work get done when we are lazy, the ant has no one over him yet he goes and gathers food. We must do the same, we must go out and deliver the Food to everyone, God's Word.

Another things that really made me think about where i stand in my relationship is lying. We all do it, we can't hide it. Some people do it without thinking and the other people just do it because they want to but Proverbs 6:16-19 says Six things the LORD hates, and seven are detestable, they are haughty eyes (adulterer), lying tongue (lying), hands that shed innocent blood (murderers), a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are quick to rush into evil, a false witness who pours out lies (false witness), and a man who stirs up dissension among brothers. This pretty much will tell you how you are living your life. I know i still have a lot of work to do before i become a Youth Minister, but I know our God is great and he can do anything he wants through us.
